iPhoneDevCamp 3: This Fri-Sun, Sunnyvale, $50

iPhoneDevCamp 3 is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Yahoo campus in Sunnyvale. It’s $50 to attend, and more than 400 people have already registered.

iPhoneDevCamp is an unconference for iPhone developers in the a BarCamp model. BarCamps emphasize participation. Instead of having a fixed schedule of presenters talking to an audience the roles are looser. There are some keynotes; but lot of room for attendees to shine. See the agenda for more details.

A lot of really interesting stuff has come out of previous iPhoneDevCamps. The inaugural 2007 iPhoneDevCamp pre-dated 3rd party native apps; yet from it surfaced iUI and Tilt, a game that used clever JavaScript and CSS hacks to detect orientation changes within the web browser. GreasePocket, a proof of concept iPhone GreaseMonkey hack, was created at the 2008 iPhoneDevCamp.

Should be a fun event!
